Temporary ongoing Gardening job for a Housing Association based near Stoke Newington, London.

Pay rate up to £16.00 per hour.

Working M-F 8am-4pm.

May involve working with a team as and when required covering sites around North London.

JOB DUTIES

Applicants for the Gardening job will be responsible for

The Gardening job will involve providing high quality gardening & grounds maintenance service to residential estate areas.

Weeding, dead heading, hoeing, planting, pruning, cutting and watering communal beds.

Cut and maintain lawns and grass areas, using a variety of machines, including pedestrian operated, tractors & ride on mowers, strimmers and brush cutters, and including fertilizer and pesticide application.

The Gardening job will involve using and operating a variety of tools, machinery and equipment.

Carry out small scale landscaping operations. Remove leaves, moss and snow as required.

Respond promptly to acts of vandalism, including graffiti, and report all incidents.

Assist in identifying communal areas that could be enhanced through replanting and or soft /hard landscaping. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal applicant for the Gardening job will have previous experience of undertaking gardening & ground maintenance.

Good knowledge of a wide range of plants and understanding of their growing requirements.

Ability to use a wide range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools.

Ability to work responsibly unsupervised.

Basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety and being physically fit.

The Gardening job will suit someone who has worked in a public facing environment and is able to communicate accurately, listen & act in a polite, friendly and helpful way. 

PC Literate, to send and receive emails, attach documents and photos and follow instructions from smartphone apps.

The Gardening job is based near Stoke Newington, London N16, and may involve working mobile around North London.
